One of our biggest events of the year is happening April 18th at Suzanne Roberts Theatre located at Broad and Pine Sts. 530-9pm. Our Finals event features the top 12 poets from our monthly individual poetry slam that featured 42 young poets between 13 and 19 years old since September 2014. They have worked hard and earned their spot word by word! The top poets from this competition will represent Philly at this years Brave New Voices International Poetry Fest in Atlanta, GA.

The Philly Youth Poetry Movement (PYPM) is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a safe space for Philadelphia teens to discover the power of their voices through spoken word and literary expression.
PYPM offers literary arts education programming for youth ages 13-19 that promotes creative expression, critical literacy, life skills, and civic engagement. We believe that when youth take ownership of their voice, they take ownership over themselves.
